Individual health services (known as "IGeL Services") may be recommended in some cases for early detection and therapy of certain diseases.

As individual health services are not included in the statutory health insurance service catalogue, these services must be paid for by the patients themselves.
Private health insurance companies usually reimburse these costs or do so if the patient submits a prior request.
