Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy

Innovative technology for the treatment of diseases of the tendons

Radial extracorporeal shockwave therapy (rESWT) is world-wide the preferred method of treatment for many orthopaedic conditions such as tennis and golf elbow, calcaneal spurs, plantar fasciitis, calcification of the shoulder (tendinosis calcarea) and injuries of the Achilles and patella tendons.

During this therapy the affected area is treated with shockwaves. In each session about 3000 impulses induce the release of pro-active growth factors in the affected area which lead to improved cell regeneration and production of the body's own pain-inhibiting substances

The result is a faster stimulation of the healing process and accelerated pain relief. Studies have shown that extracorporeal shockwave therapy is more effective for certain conditions than cortisone injections or operations.

The success rate is high and the treatment has virtually no side effects. The therapy costs 86,27 Euros per session. To ensure sustained success of the therapy we recommend a series of three to five sessions.
